Day 1: Arrival by Druk-air – Paro
During this journey, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport the representative of Jeroma Tours & Travels will receive and help you with the arrival formalities and you will be transferred to hotel through the enchanting valley of Paro. After lunch visit Ta Dzong the National Museum and on the way back visit Rimpong Dzong (Fortress) if time permits stroll around town. Over night stay at Rinchen Ling Lodge.
Day 2 : Day Excursion to Tiger Nest monastery.
Spend a full day hiking to Taktsang till the viewpoint, the Tiger’s nest. This magical monastery which was destroyed by fire used to cling to the vertical granite cliff of 3,000′ above the valley floor. Taktsang (tiger’s nest) Monastery where the saint Guru Padma-Sambhava landed on the flying tiger and mediated there in the 8th century. The disciples of Guru built the temple, which was later enlarged by Shabdrung in the 17th century. This monastery is the highlights of Bhutan. After lunch hike back to the hotel and later in the afternoon drive to Thimphu which takes about one hour along the winding road, which follows the Paro River downstream and subsequently the Thimphu River up steam till you reach the capital. Over night stay at Raven Inn Hotel.
Day 3 : Thimphu – Sightseeing
After breakfast drive for sightseeing of the Thimphu valley. Visit the Memorial Chorten built in memory of the Late King, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the Father of Modern Bhutan. Then visit the National Library, Zelukha Nunnery and the post office. In winter the Tashichho Dzong Secretariat building which houses the Throne Room of the King, Offices for the Ministers and the residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot) and the Monk body can also be visited. Over night stay at Raven Inn Hotel.
Day 4 : Thimphu – Punakha
After breakfast drive to Punakha at the Docula pass on the clear day there is a spectacular view of the hemalayan ranges. En-route to Punakha visit Chimi Lhakhang the temple of Divine madman known as Drukpa Kinley which is short walk of about 40 minutes through the rice taraces. The lunch will be served after the visit of the temple. After lunch visit Punakha Dzong built at the confluence of two rivers known as Phochu (male) Mochu (female) Punakha was the ancient capital of Bhutan where visitors are allowed to enter the Dzong if the Je Khenpo (chief Abbot) and the central monk body is in Thimphu in their summer residence. Overnight stay at Meri Pinsum Resort or Singay Lodge.
Day 5 : Punakha – Paro
After breakfast drive to Wangdi Phodrang to visit the Dzong. The only Dzong with the wooden Shingles known for the victory for the unification of our country by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyal. The lunch will be served at Duchu La (pass) if the weather permits the spectacular view of the Himalayas can be seen. Later in the afternoon drive Paro. Over night stay at Rinchen Ling Logde.
Day 6 : Departure.
After breakfast drive to Paro Air port for the onwards flight to your destination.
Day 1 : Phobjikha – Gogona
A moderate trail winds through meadows and fields, then ascends to the Tselela pass through mixed forest of Juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendron. The people of Gogona speak a language called Bjopkha – the language of the nomads. Their life in this isolated valley has kept the tradition, culture and the language still alive. Overnight at farm house/tent.
Day 2 : Gogona – Khotokha
A gentle climb leads to the Shobjula pass, alt. 11,155ft. From here the descend leads to a wide valley, reminiscent of the big sky and views of mountains all around. Overnight at temple guest house/ tent.
Day 3 : Khotokha – Chunzom – Punakha
A short ascend leads to the Tashila pass, alt. 9,200ft. Be sure to fill your water shortly after crossing the pass, as the descend is totally dry. Walk down through evergreen vegetation into the drainage of the Dangchu where one will reach the motor able road at Chunzom. Here the vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and head towards Punakha /Paro. Overnight in hotel.
